The Big Picture: Mortenson is looking for a Lead Payroll Administrator - Workforce Management Team, who will provide timely and accurate processing of multi-state time and payroll transactions. What you will be doing: Assist manager with supervision of the day-to-day operations of the WFM team. Includes team assignments, monitoring of workflow and metrics around incoming work. Assist manager with onboarding and training of WFM team. Is responsible for understanding and implementing the end-to-end process of Time capture starting with regulatory and union work rules through to audit and time transfer with all relevant reporting and filings. Is the subject matter expert on processes and can audit/review others work to ensure quality results for activities such as: Review and reconciliation of timecards prior to all pay runs; weekly, biweekly, BLUvera and Lansing; Preparation and review of weekly timekeeping/payroll reports including data entry of time information and associated reporting, as needed Retention of time and attendance records for historical questions and audit purposes Preparation and auditing of time records to support daily off-cycle checks as needed In connection with analysts, participate in projects and enhancements related to UKG and Passport. Will engage in the process to ensure business needs are considered in the design and testing of all system changes. Includes system upgrades, business driven enhancements and new or revised work rules implementation. Research and resolve complex payroll inquiries from Mortenson Project Teams, Business Services areas or individual team members via phone or email. Act as Payroll team member liaison for Mortenson Project teams. Ensure each project team is trained in Passport so worked hours are recorded correctly. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels How you will succeed: Positive, professional attitude with excellent customer service skills Consistently exhibit a sense of urgency in performing duties with the ability to balance multiple priorities Ability to follow complex processes with a high degree of accuracy and be able to identify and implement ongoing process improvements Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act, state payroll requirements, federal and state payroll taxes, and standard accounting procedures Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Experience with multi-local and foreign payrolls Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback Education and experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience Minimum of five years payroll experience in a multi-state environment Excellent Knowledge of Kronos Dimension preferred Oracle payroll or ADP knowledge preferred Experience leading processes or a team preferred Experience working with unions a plus CPP certification a plus This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Mortenson is an EOE/Aff rmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
