City Of Minneapolis-Human Resources Implementation Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Position Description You will be an integral part of our team responsible for the effective implementation of technical solutions to improve the City's Enterprise. You will function as bridge between department and technology by providing customer service in developing and implementing procedures to sustain system and data integrity and handling systems problems. This position is within the City's Information Technology department. Work Location This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. Job Duties and Responsibilities Act as a liaison between users and technical staff including vendors, contractors, and BIS staff by identifying and communicating business needs, assessing application needs, setting up codes in applications, preparing report specifications, and testing applications. Assist in the implementation of new software solutions and technologies. Play an active role in troubleshooting technical issues, work with vendors to get issues resolved in a timely manner. Provide data and analysis recommendations and results in response to department business needs. Participate in meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates. Assist in coordinating project tasks and timelines. Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing systems. Prepare reports on project progress and technical issues encountered. Suggest improvements to existing processes and technologies. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, analysts, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions. Review and Analyze Functional Specifications and/or related documentation. Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or equivalent. Minimum Experience Three years experience performing related duties consultant, or equivalent role within or interacting with an IT organization. Equivalency An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered. Work Location This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. Selection Process The selection process will consist of one or more of the following steps: a rating of relevant education and experience and/or an oral examination (100%). It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. A submitted application is also used to verify the answers to any supplemental questions. Only those candidates who attain a passing score (70%) on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list. Eligible List Statement The names of applicants who meet minimum qualification and who pass the screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration. This list will be certified to the hiring manager who may use the list to fill a vacancy of the same job title. This eligible list will expire two months after it has been established. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Good knowledge of third-party software, such as Microsoft Applications, SQL, programing language as C#. Knowledge of business process modeling, project implementation, business analysis tools and techniques. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with databases, networking, and cloud technologies. Ability to juggle multiple projects at one time while maintaining high quality output. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Adaptable and responsive to changing project requirements and priorities.
