OVERVIEW The General Mills - Minneapolis Grain Elevator manages grain shipments and inventory in support of key products such as Cheerios and Gold Medal Flour. The Minneapolis Elevators have two locations located in Minneapolis: T and Soo. Today, the elevator employs 14 employees. As the Grain Accountant, you will be responsible for daily execution of grain inventory management, accounts payable reconciliation, payroll, and ad hoc HR tasks as part of the Minneapolis Elevator Team. Also, this role will ensure accounts payable and grain accounting comply with related controls. The incumbent will have an opportunity to develop grain accounting expertise while gaining exposure to Grain Operations and Sourcing. This role\'s core hours are during day shift with limited weekend or overtime requirements. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Execute daily/monthly elevator activity and inventory reconciliation tasks. Perform Unload/Loadout Settlements and input grading information on daily basis. Support accounting and controls in the elevator including accounts payable, PO reconciliation, vendor support, etc. Complete required HR activities including payroll, PTO tracking, benefit support, personnel files, new employee onboarding, etc. Update weekly and monthly reporting (sustainability, hours worked, cost center, etc.) Support maintenance and safety team in office tasks (purchasing, format training, paperwork, etc.) Support audit and control to ensure compliance with GMI and regulatory requirements. Serve as back-up for Superior Grain Accountant for accounting and payroll activities. Partner with the operations teams to track expenses versus budget, analyze fluctuations and identify cost savings opportunities. Ensure clear process documentation is in place, utilized and up to date. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma Financial Acumen: Ability to learn Grain accounting and accounts payable practice. Ability to learn software systems (SAP, UGS, customer portals, Coupa/Taulia, G-stems, Workbrain, Workday) and a high-level competency with Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). High-level competency including MS Office Suite programs and capacity to develop high-level skills in site specific software programs Ability for collaboration and relationship building with internal and external partners Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills Understanding and application of basic zero loss / continuous improvement tenets Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build positive working relationships. Strong organizational/prioritization skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks with limited time. 10 key and keyboarding skills Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 2+ years of accounting experience or related experience Experience in grain business or food manufacturing Basic knowledge OSHA/EPA rules ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS International relocation (outside of the US) will not be considered. Salary Range The salary range for this position is \$38900.00 - \$53600.00 / Annually.
