Dorsey & Whitney Financial Analyst Intern (Summer 2024) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

We are seeking a Financial Analyst Intern in our Minneapolis office. In this role, you will assist Accounting and Finance personnel, primarily the financial analysts, in performing the fundamental duties of their jobs. This is a great internship opportunity for a second semester sophomore or a junior majoring in Finance or Accounting with an interest in corporate finance or law. Responsibilities include a range of ad-hoc requests, analytical projects supporting decision making in all functional areas of the firm (marketing, accounting, I/S, etc.), and routine monthly activities. This internship includes a competitive hourly wage and is intended as a full-time summer position (approximately 40 hours per week) with potential for a flexible part-time position during the school year (10-20 hours per week). This is a hybrid position and will have occasional in-office days to work with the team. Key Responsibilities Include: Update, produce, and distribute financial reports on multiple reporting systems. Complete analytical projects that may include examining revenue drivers (e.g. billable hours), assessing the efficiency of business processes, evaluating market trends, and generating statistical snapshots of firm performance. Participate in top-level financial planning and analysis including setting billing rates, profitability modeling, revenue budgeting, and legal market forecasting. Create presentations for practice groups and regional offices to be used by upper level firm management. Engage in long-term, strategic projects aimed at business development and improving firm practices. Assist with maintenance of timekeeper and rate records.
