As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. Our mission is three-fold: delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medicine through research, and training the next generation of health professionals. The Division of Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapy (BMT/CT), University of Minnesota, is seeking an academic pediatric hematologist/oncologist with training and experience in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy.The Division invites applications for an Academic track position, with a focus in clinical care and clinical research, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. About the Appointment: The ideal candidate will have translational research experience and clinical expertise in the treatment and research related to blood and marrow transplantation & cellular therapy, as well as independently obtained research funding. The Division is seeking an individual with a strong interest in clinical research in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy who can thrive the team-based environment of the University of Minnesota Medical School. This individual will assume a key leadership role in the development, implementation, and supervision of innovative research projects and clinical trials in the treatment of treatment of malignant and non-malignant disorders. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and collaborate with research team members involved in support of critical research goals. This individual will also participate in the inpatient and outpatient clinical care of patients at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital as well as teaching of medical students and post-graduate trainees. About the Division: The clinical program at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital (UMMCH) is a free-standing hospital recognized as the second largest unrelated donor transplant program in the country, and one of the largest umbilical cord blood transplant centers worldwide. The program performs and average of 85 transplants annually in addition to gene therapy and CAR-T cell therapy trials. The pediatric program works closely with the adult program and combined we have over 50 open clinical trials. UMMCH offers state-of-the-art facilities with access to more than 50 subspecialties and convenient family-centered services. The division supports a 3-year ACGME accredited fellowship in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Blood and Marrow transplantation and a 1-year post-fellowship program in Blood and Marrow Transplantation. The Division's scientific laboratories focus on transplantation immunology, cellular therapies, immunotherapies, gene therapies, and innovative therapies for rare metabolic and inherited diseases. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric residency and Pediatric Hematology Oncology fellowship training programs Board eligible/certified in Pediatric Hematology Oncology Extensive training and experience in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy Demonstrated excellence in patient care Demonstrated excellence in clinical trial development and implementation Demonstrated enthusiasm for medical education and strong teaching skills Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
