Fairview Health Services Department Assistant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank and M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital locations in Minneapolis, MN .

This is a casual position but will require every Sunday 0700-1530 with the availability to pick up more shifts as well.

Responsibilities Job Description

Provide superior customer service on the phone to all patients, other Fairview entities and department, and others.

  • Communicate accurate information effectively regarding surgical procedures according to established processes to support day-to-day operations in the operating room.

  • Place work orders for broken equipment.

  • Assist customers with basic questions related to add-on procedures and other surgical related questions.

  • Take accurate and complete phone messages and forward them to appropriate person for resolution.

  • Maintain a positive, helpful tone of voice when assisting callers.

Responsible for adding on surgical procedures to schedule on a daily basis.

  • Use EPIC, our electronic health record to schedule surgical procedures.

  • Contact all staff involved in preparing for and performing procedure.

  • Thorough communication with charge nurse.

  • Respond to basic requests as assigned.

Assist with gathering information, completing forms, and any other task as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1 year of customer service, front desk, department assistant or related work experience.

  • Strong commiunciation skills providing customer service in person and via phone and email.

  • Ability to learn and use multiple types of comupter systems.

Preferred:

  • Epic, Excellion, or similar EMR medical record system experience.

  • Healthcare experience.

  • Medical Terminology.
