Fairview Health Services Coordinator - Wholesale Pharmacy Services in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

This position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Wholesale Drug Distribution Services (WDDS), including purchasing items for Fairview-owned and non-owned clinics and Fairview pharmacies, maintaining medications in stock to meet customer needs, ensuring contracts are utilized, provide information on new products, research customer needs to determine product availability and cost, ensure all orders are appropriately billed, and ensure customer needs are exceeded to continue to increase use of the Wholesale Pharmacy.

This is a full-time benefit eligible position!

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Purchase medications for Fairview owned and non-owned clinics.

  • Research alternative products and/or vendors when drug shortages arise.

  • Order from wholesaler or directly from manufacturer as appropriate.

  • Act as a Fairview liaison to the wholesalers, drug representatives and others.

  • Supply and distribute products and supplies to FV Pharmacies and other FV entities as needed.

  • Coordinate the most cost effective delivery method for each order.

  • Responsible for inventory control.

  • Responsible for separating and tracking of Fairview owned from non-Fairview clinic pharmaceuticals.

  • Allocate product according to Fairview policies and procedures.

  • Maintain, distribute, and account for “own use” medications.

  • Maintain and track CII inventory.

  • Responsible for distribution of pharmacy products to all Fairview and non-Fairview entities.

  • Process all orders in CPR+.

  • Effectively track and manage separate inventory and pricing for Fairview and non-Fairview entities.

  • Fill and package all orders for shipment via most cost effective delivery system.

  • Verify pricing on all products in CPR+ and ERX.

  • Provide pricing when requested.

  • Ship and ensure delivery of all orders to clinics.

  • Responsible for all recalls associated with products sold to clinics

  • Process each recall notification to verify if product is in inventory or sold to any Fairview or non Fairview sites.

  • If applicable, notify sites of recall and possibility of affected product on site.

  • Coordinate return of affected products from sites and coordinate return of product to manufacturer/distributor according to recall specifications.

  • Issue credit to all sites for affected product when received from the manufacturer.

  • Responsible for all mission/charity orders WDDS provides

  • Follow policy and procedure established for missions/charity.

  • Order product, bill, ship, or arrange pick-up as needed.

  • Returns to reverse distributor

  • Supply clinics with return ticket for returning of eligible products for return for credit.

  • Process all returned items sent to WDDS for credit to make sure they are eligible for return.

  • Return items to reverse distributor for credit.

  • Maintain separate returns for products returned from clinics and for product in house that was never set out to clinics (overstock).

  • Support finance when credits are received from manufacturers.

  • Manage central supply

  • Process orders to distribute central supply products in the event of drug shortage and when manufacturer is unable to supply.

  • Track and properly allocate central supply inventory.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience

License/Certification/Registration

  • Current technician registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy

Preferred Education

  • Graduate of a pharmacy technical program or minimum two years’ experience in a community pharmacy setting,

  • college degree or college level business classes

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in purchasing

License/Certification/Registration

  • PTCB certification
