Position Title: CNC Milling Machine Center Setup Operator

Job Summary: This role entails setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machining centers to produce required quantities of parts to specified standards. The operator sets up the machine using knowledge of job requirements and materials, adjusts control panel settings, and performs production operations while monitoring machine performance and part quality.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up and operate CNC equipment, including understanding job requirements, materials, and tooling.

  • Interpret and write simple G and M code sequences, deploy inserts, fixtures, and tooling, and perform tool wear offsets.

  • Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot as needed, and perform light maintenance.

  • Read blueprints and work orders, ensuring adherence to specifications.

  • Ensure quality control of produced parts and comply with quality policies and regulations.

  • Complete necessary paperwork and maintain a clean, safe work area.

  • Contribute to team effort by performing assigned duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate; Preferred: Two-year technical degree in Machine Technology or equivalent.

  • Required: Experience as a CNC Machinist or CNC education; Preferred: Minimum 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machine equipment.

  • 5-axis milling experience required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, maintain records, and use trade tools and measurement devices.

  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical competency, and mathematical skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate well.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise levels.

  • Full-time, non-exempt position with Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, grasping, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Communication using speech, vision, and hearing, along with occasional repetitive motions.
