POSITION: Erosion Control Crew Laborer Culvert Crew Laborer EXPECTATIONS OF ALL TEAM MEMBERS High quality, professional work product performed with initiative, productivity, a positive attitude and behavior. Team members should cooperate with others in a team environment, accept direction from supervisors, follow work rules and procedures, have punctual and consistent attendance, and accept constructive feedback. Performance should meet or exceed the established standards, goals, and accountabilities of the position. All team members are responsible for supporting an inclusive work environment along with affirmative action and employment related goals and requirements. Team members should align with and contribute to the Mortenson values and ethical standards as stated in the Mortenson Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and understand and abide by the procedures and practices outlined in the Mortenson Operations Manual. KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Adhere to Company Safety Standards, including the proper use of machinery and equipment. Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor. Load and unload materials. Follow instruction from crew foreman. Remove, fill, rake, compact and prepare the terrain. Install wattle, silt fence, and erosion control blankets using a variety of hand tools. Assist with the install of culverts and ditch work. Assist fellow crew members. Perform site clean-up and reload left over materials after the task of the day is complete. Give hand signals to operator. Be a spotter for equipment and/or vehicles. Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Must be at least 18 years old. Physically able to walk, bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs. Work in inclement weather conditions such as rain, heat, wind and snow. Work long hours and weekends. Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background. Previous construction experience preferred but not required.
