Position Summary:

The Buyer-Planner is responsible for direct and indirect material purchasing, forecasting, and inventory management to support day-to-day operations. Essential to this role is an ability to leverage Supply Chain and ERP expertise in a regulated environment to ensure compliance by leveraging supplier relationships, material management, and replenishment planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages the purchase and production plan to ensure inventory supply through the analysis of consumption, reorder points and order quantities.

  • Maintain a forecast and safety stock levels. Incorporate historical sales and forward looking forecasts from commercial teams.

  • Submits purchase orders for direct and indirect materials.

  • Compile and analyze data to perform price analysis, make source selections, and procurement justifications.

  • Maintain a forecast and safety stock levels using historical sales data.

  • Manage open orders, including past due production and purchase orders.

  • Interact with OEM vendors to manage production and fulfillment schedules.

  • Communicate expectations with relevant vendors, quality and customer care teams.

  • Monitor and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI), including daily review of customer backorders.

  • Identify expired Items, salvage useable components, and re-work when possible.

  • Maintain ERP data fields used to support purchasing and production planning.

  • Assist in launch of new kits.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues of high complexity independently

  • Assist in launch of new kits.

  • Train and mentor other planners and act as a SME for the planning team.

  • May lead projects and new initiatives for the department

  • Follow company policies, practices and safety guidelines as outlined

  • Demonstrates EPIC values and is recognized by others for this

  • Demonstrated ability to complete all duties of the Planner role

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent (AA degree plus APICS certification with a minimum of 4 years of related experience

  • ERP knowledge, Microsoft Dynamics preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office with advanced excel skills

  • Familiarity with ISO and cGMP requirements

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
