Vestis Services 2nd Shift-Maintenance Apprentice Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

$28.30 per hour full work week. Vestis is seeking Maintenance Apprentice Technicians to support our production facility. We are looking for talented collaborators with the ability to learn in our Industrial Laundry Facility. General Summary: You will start with the basic in maintenance – the Daily routine cleaning, adjusting, safety checks, minor repairs and maintenance calls throughout the facility. You will also perform preventative maintenance as well as help other maintenance personal with emergency repairs throughout the building. In doing all your duties remembering adhering to a culture of safety. All of this will help supplying equipment reliability for our production operation.

Job Duties:

  • Clean and blowdown production equipment, change filters, clean and wipe down fans, clean screens inspect different parts of the facility, perform basic plumbing repairs,

  • Climb ladders and operate scissor lifts

  • Lift up to 50# at times

  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment (e.g., pneumatic systems, conveyor equipment, hydraulic and minor electrical equipment, etc.) according to safety and quality procedures

  • Paint and sand equipment and or office walls as needed – Building maintenance duties.

  • Assist other technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment

  • Complete work orders, logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures

  • Provide information to management to improve equipment reliability and improve safety

  • Follow up with the departments to ensure issues have been resolved

  • Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner

  • Adheres to all department and company standards, operating procedures and safety requirements while contributing to improvement

  • May be needed to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

  • Wages range $28.30 to $30 plus depending on experience, qualifications, and licenses. Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, post-high school education/training preferred

  • Ability to work well with the associates and represent the organization in a positive manner

  • A good work ethic is a must

  • Industrial Laundry experience a plus but not necessary

  • Skills in welding, hand and power tools, mill work, electrical motor installations, piping, and electrical installations all a plus.

  • Dedication to promoting a strong culture of safety

  • Ability to adapt to job duty and department changes as needed
