JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Senior Support Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will provide technical leadership to National Training Program deployment to Network offices. Apply customer and engineering best practices to analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support software monitoring solutions to drive strong performance and high availability to meet and exceed customer expectations. Drive Customer engagement workflow, including technical analysis and resolutions for escalated incidents, service requests, and problems. Create effortless customer experience including effective use of self service, community and knowledge management for users, Tier 1 support, and related teams. Stay current on enterprise standards, customer success and industry standards, technologies (including AWS cloud, Azure IAM, Java stack, RDBMS), methodologies (including SCRUM best practices, OOPS), and other best practices. Debug and improve complex Java programs and Unix scripts quickly when escalated incidents are impacting users and the business. Write and debug complex SQL queries that feed various reports to end users and corporate business users. Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles for tier 1 support teams\' reference to resolve incidents quickly. Telecommuting permissible up to 3 days per week. Requires a Master\'s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience as a software engineer, computer systems analyst, or related occupation. Employer will also accept a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field plus five years of experience as a software developer, computer systems analyst, or related occupation. Experience must include three years of experience with each of the following: (1) SVN, Git, GitLab, Jenkins; (2) Enterprise applications design, development, support, and troubleshooting; (3) HTML, Java Script, jQuery, Backbone, React, Java, SOAP/REST services, micro services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Spring framework; (4) Full Stack design, development, debugging, and support; (5) Cloud Engineering; (6) SDLC tools and methodologies including Kanban, SCRUM, Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, and Spiral; (7) DevOps processes and methodologies; (8) Scripts including Bash and Perl; (9) Sybase, DB2, and MySQL; and (10) DML and DDL using SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
