General Electric Senior Electrical Engineer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Due to our expanding product roadmap, the Monitoring Solutions team is adding a senior level engineer with expertise in embedded electrical systems design. This individual will lead & participate in the development of monitoring products, conducts design reviews, & ensure that program deliverables adhere to plan. This role requires cross functional leadership & interaction with Sourcing, Manufacturing & Quality team members to ensure the product & quality goals set forth by the business are met.
Leads electrical design efforts, including concept development, architecture design, and verification to meet the requirements of Monitoring products
Owns product architecture and solution from concept to production
Drives innovation, optimization and simplification
Serves as a subject matter expert to drive design reviews
Develops design alternatives to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
Establishes and maintains performance, quality, vitality, and reliability for monitoring products
Provides project leadership for electrical design activities within assigned programs, including estimating schedule and resource requirements, product cost, requirements development, and status reports
Takes on project leadership responsibilities as needed to support successful new product development
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 6 years of related work experience in the areas of embedded electrical systems design product development
Demonstrated project leadership and influencing skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
7+ years of progressive work experience as an engineer designing and developing products
Embedded systems development and integration experience including:
a. Embedded Firmware (C/C++)
b. SoC, DSP, micro-controllers programming experience
c. Knowledge of processor architecture, digital circuit design and various communications protocols
d. Real-time control applications, multi-sensor integration, wireless communications, RTOS and Linux BSP development
e. Passion for Verification Automation: Python, Perl, LabView, Robot Framework
f. FPGA, GPU design or programming knowledge
g. Low power embedded systems architecture
Design for manufacturing experience
Medical device design experience (IEC 60601-1, and 510k submission)
Familiarity with PDM/Oracle software (e.g. MyWorkshop)
Demonstrated planning and leadership of product development programs
Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers
Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues.
Demonstrated understanding of a regulated healthcare industry and knowledge of FDA requirements
Problem solver and clear thinker when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues. Responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.
