JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Howard Precision Metal, INC, a part of the Ryerson Family of Companies has an opportunity for a Saw Operator position. As a Saw Operator you are responsible for setting up, adjusting and operating high speed circular precision saw, maintaining precision sawing tolerances, sawing close tolerance dimensions to produce a variety of plate and extrusion items. If you have recently finished certification for a machine operator or have worked on a CNC saw or machining center, injection molding machine, laser, plasma or even punch press, then you will have the skills to operate our specialized saws. This position is 3rd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 8:00 pm - 5:00 am. Roles and Responsibilities: * Determine and install proper blade size based on material type and size; check and replenish fluid for lubrication system; check and remove chips from collection system as needed or at end of shift * Inspect material for damage and proper thickness tolerance and ensure required quality by the set inspection procedures * Move material using over head crane with vacuum lift, forklift, or other material handling equipment; perform manual work having to do with the handling of the materials * Operate, read and understand Veneers Calipers, Micrometers, and other measuring devices to maintain specifications and tolerances * Recognize operating irregularities and machine malfunctions, notifies team-leader and/or makes necessary adjustments or repairs * Work safely at all times and comply with all safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices * Keep work-station environment, equipment and machine in a clean, safe and orderly condition * All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Position Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED * 1-3 years\' experience in working in warehouse or machine operator * Demonstrated experience in working with math (adding decimals) * A proven track record of accuracy (few or no errors) * Demonstrated experience to analyze and access each step of process to assure accuracy. * Able to stand for entire shift and lift up to 70 pounds * Successfully pass the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment which evaluates your reading, math, inspection...
