MAYNARD STEEL CASTING CO Ladle Repair/Pourer in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: To repair and reline ladles with refractory material which are then used to transport and pour molten metal into molds. - Use hand held pneumatic chipper to chip and clean slag and sections of lining to facilitate patching. Occasionally, may use an oxygen lance and/or propane cutting torch. - Inspects ladles for cracks, defects, and other wear in linings when required. Removes old linings that are beyond repair. - Mixes refractory materials used to patch, and hand or spray applies to lining. - Shapes pouring spouts by hand or template. - Assembles and properly seats stopper rod assembly. - Assures that ladles are preheated and properly cured. - Empties and relines slag tubs assuring they are readily available. - Cuts and prepares nozzle inserts having them ready for use. - Assures that ladle handles are available in the pouring areas, and that appropriate protection is utilized to ensure slide mechanism performs adequately. - Sets up ladle topping supplies and adds after tapping of Electric Arc Furnaces. - Checks ladle scales to assure they are adequately charged and working. - Understand, to start pouring the ladle needs to be flushed at an ingot, and stopper rod snaps closed. - Directs crane operator to line up nozzle over the pouring cup of the mold, then opens stopper to fill mold rapidly without spilling or splashing. - Picks up poured test blocks and transports them to the lab. - Assists with setting molds, pouring staircases in a safe and efficient manner. - Drives forklift to obtain or stock materials. - Records production as required. -Maintain an organized and clean work area. - Adheres to all safety rules/guidelines, and even general obvious safety hazards in your work area whether or not a specific safety rule or policy exists. -Other job duties as assigned. ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: E-Mail a Rsum: jobs@maynardsteel.com Fax a Rsum: (414-671-4665) Other: Submit all applications and resumes Care of Michael Kingsberry.
