What You Will Contribute: Engineer I, Firmware Electronics is responsible for assisting with the development of new products or with sustaining efforts of existing products with oversight. Efforts include current product support issues, custom troubleshooting, and validation testing. This position encompasses all aspects of embedded systems: hardware design, firmware development, and product performance testing. The Engineer I will assist with performing test plans and product implementations, applying engineering fundamentals to test scenarios, troubleshooting and analyzing design tolerances. The incumbent must be willing and able to learn, work effectively in a multi-discipline team, and demonstrate effective problem-solving initiative and motivation. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: * Provide product support/sustaining engineering with oversight * Perform product and design verification tests * Assist in defining plans/production implementations * Write procedures * Initiate and implement engineering change requests * Design component/portion of a project * Actively participate in project teams, provide input into project schedules, budgets, risks QUALIFICATIONS: * No previous experience required * Bachelor\'s degree with specialization in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering * Solid foundation of engineering fundamentals * Basic understanding of Embedded systems (Altium, SVN, C Programming and Compilers, and Oscilloscopes and Analyzers). * Experience working in C or C++. * Ability to operate on a manufacturing floor as applicable (Preferred) * Demonstrated strong initiative and motivation (Preferred) * Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems (Preferred) * Demonstrates appropriate Judgement/decision making / for their level of authority (Preferred) Competitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter: * Competitive Pay * Annual Bonus * Eligible for Annual Pay Increases * Comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage * 15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays * Two Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
