FTE: 1.000000 Shift: 1 Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday working 0800-1630, Thursday working 0730-1600 Job Summary: Contributes to patient care by assisting with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to pre-visit planning, vital signs, performing blood draws, maintaining the environment of care, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, and review of discharge instructions. Assists nurses and physicians with Mohs procedures and related dermatology services. Manages supply inventory, and/or assisting providers and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to enhance the patient care experience. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1year of experience as a medical assistant in a surgical work area, a surgical technologist, a certified nursing assistant, or EMT is required. Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience is preferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician or EMT education program is required. In lieu of certification; two years of experience as a Mohs technician will be accepted.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Good interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize, concentrate and pay close attention to details. Knowledge of medical terminology, sterile technique, and surgical instruments preferred. Demonstrates a high level of collaboration with peers in making decisions related to surgical patient care.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification is preferred for those who have completed the CNA, MA, ST, or EMT programs.
