MAYNARD STEEL CASTING CO Casting Repair Welder in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: To repair defects in castings by performing difficult and specialized Arc position welding on a wide range of metals and alloys. Requires a high degree of skill and hand to eye coordination. Build up of welded metal to conform with casting contours is frequently required. - Remove all defects from castings that are marked up by inspectors. - Weld cavity up by hand manipulating Arc weave. - Chip slag off weld after each pass. - Each weld pass must be clean to avoid rewelding. - Arc Air weld down to casting surface. - Chip slag and splatter off casting for grinders. - Set amperage and voltage of weld machine according to specifications. - Set wire speed according to specifications. - Inspect each weld to assure it is free of defects. - Monitor casting pre heat temperatures and adjust if needed. -Prepare weld area by Air Arc gouging, chipping and occasional grinding. - Inspect castings for defects that may have been overlooked. - Maintain a organized and clean work area. - Adhere to all company safety rules/guidelines, and even general obvious hazards in their work area whether or not a specific safety rule or policy exists. - Other job duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Prior casting repair welding experience highly desired with the ability to scarf or learn to scarf.
