Description

Robert Half is assisting a professional services organization in the recruiting for a Billing Specialist. The primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely billing for services provided by the organization. You will play a crucial role in managing the billing process for your assigned clients, verifying invoices, resolving billing discrepancies, and maintaining financial records. The Billing Specialist is an integral part of the finance team and collaborates closely with various departments and clients to ensure efficient and effective billing operations.

This is a permanent placement opportunity in the Downtown Milwaukee area offering a competitive salary and benefits package with health insurance starting day one of employment, 401k profit sharing and hybrid flexibility after training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and process invoices based on contracts or service agreements.

  • Review billing data for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to billing policies.

  • Prepare and distribute invoices to customers via mail, email, or electronic billing systems.

  • Monitor billing cycles and deadlines to ensure timely invoicing.

  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records and documentation.

  • Organize and file invoices, payment records, and related financial documents.

  • Conduct regular audits of billing records to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Prepare reports summarizing billing activities, outstanding balances, and collections.

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing-related matters in a timely and professional manner.

  • Provide clarification on billing policies, procedures, and invoice details.

    Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business related field is a plus

  • Proficient in using billing software and other accounting systems

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
