Overview Our client based in Milwaukee WI is seeking an Accounts Receivables Analyst to come in and hit the ground running! This person must be accounting-minded enough to diligently make sure that customer payments are correctly and promptly applied, that payments balance, that individual customer quirks (and ERP system nuances) are respected.

salary: $25 - $35 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

  • Apply customer payments

  • Find and utilize the actual remittance advice (customer definition of invoices being paid);

  • There may be customer service-instigated credits that should be applied;

  • There may be credits taken (deductions in the payment) for credits not yet issued by client – then forward the information to marketing or customer service;

  • Note: this is neither credit approval nor collections work;

  • Customer payments may arrive via:

  • Checks by mail;

  • ACH by bank notice (then find the remittance advice in emails);

  • Credit card payments that can be weekly, monthly, or immediate;

  • These often require amount confirmation with the customer;

  • Some of these are not for an exact invoice total;

  • Credit card payments needs to be first processed, then applied;

  • COD checks by driver pick-up;

  • Driver-delivered checks need to be first reviewed for completeness, then applied;

  • Email or call customers when a payment arrives that's not clear as to its application to invoices;

  • Document the outcome of these customer contacts;

  • Forward information for follow-up when credit card payments are declined;

  • Requires being familiar with Excel to the extent of using VLookups.
