Custom Container Solutions, LLC Welder in Milton, Pennsylvania

Description

This position uses welding and metal fabrication skills to assemble and repair steel industrial containers.  The position requires focus on teamwork, communication, flexibility, safety and quality. The position also requires utilizing continuous improvement (CI) concepts to improve efficiency and quality of work.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safe work practices.
  • Review production schedules and complete work as indicated.
  • Follow standard operating/work procedures to complete tasks.
  • Obtain parts and materials as directed.
  • Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
  • Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
  • Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding).
  • Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to or after welding.
  • Grind or clean weld joint of work piece.
  • Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes.
  • Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture.
  • Tack assemblies together.
  • Fabricate new or replacement parts as necessary
  • Assemble component parts using hand and small power tools.
  • May change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts, etc.
  • Clean-up work area daily.

Requirements

Experience:

The following experience is preferred but not required. What is required is the desire to learn the skills and the aptitude to apply them to the job. If you are willing to learn, we will teach you! 

  • Mig welding or metal fabrication
  • Grinding, cutting or other related work experience
  • Use of hand tools and other small equipment
  • Work with construction, trades, or other related work

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Basic math skills
  • Reading basic shop drawings or blueprints
  • Accurately reading a measuring tape
  • Operate welding equipment with skill
  • Operate cutting and grinding tools with skill
  • Willing to operate crane and fork-lift

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, arriving on time, working a full shift to the best of your ability
  • Work efficiently by understanding how to work best with and around others to complete tasks with minimal downtime
  • Demonstrating teamwork and strong verbal communication; taking personal accountability for the work performed

Mental & Physical Abilities:

  • Lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • Standing, kneeling, squatting, crawling on a frequent and rapid basis
  • Small motor skill/hand manipulation on a frequent and rapid basis
  • High noise area -- ear protection required to be worn
  • Work primarily inside in either hot or cold environments seasonally
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, including but not limited to: hearing protection, safety glasses, welding sleeves and/or jacket, welding hood or helmet, steel toed shoes, metatarsal guards, welding pants or jeans
