Description

We are seeking caring individuals for rewarding part-time, one-to-one positions, teaching daily living and community integration skills to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Community Habilitation Specialist provides support and skills training to individuals in their homes and also in community settings.

Staff will provide 1:1 assistance with everyday living skills (including but not limited to personal hygiene, banking skills, physical fitness, etc), to maintain or to develop the highest level of independence possible for them.

The staff who work for Community Habilitation should be flexible and self-motivated. Time management skills are definitely important in this position which requires a great deal of independence.

Day hours, after-school, early evening and weekend hours are available for Community Habilitation.

PART-TIME HOURS/SCHEDULES AVAILABLE:

(1) 10 hours per week/after school/evenings/weekends

STARTING SALARY: $ 19.50 to $ 21.45 per hour, with additional shift differentials as applicable

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred

  • Acceptable NYS Driver's License and a reliable vehicle

  • Computer skills
