Responsibilities

Your goal will be to create a learning environment that provides inmates/detainees the opportunity to maximize their learning potential and achieve or enhance an ability to perform vocational tasks. This role will require you to:

  • Provide instruction to inmates for various labor and/or technical skills. through classroom instruction, demonstration, and practical exercises.
  • Maintain records including testing, daily offender work, attendance and general record-keeping.
  • Assess educational needs of inmates, develop lessons plans to address those needs to include individualized assignments and training.
  • Administer, score, and interpret examinations and proficiency indicators.
  • Counsel your students concerning their performance, behavior, and personal problems.
