The Seasonal Perennial Crew Member will be responsible for the perennial plant care, monitoring nursery stock, assisting with the stocking of the Garden Center, and performing general perennial plant maintenance. They will perform manual tasks associated with the outdoor production of perennials. Employment will be seasonal only with the season generally beginning in March and ending in November (dependent on weather, available work and other related variance).

Role and Responsibilities

  • plant, grow, and maintain perennials
  • remove cull stock, weed plants, and other unwanted growth from the perennialarea
  • irrigate and apply fertilizer to perennials
  • train, prune, trim, shear, space, transplant, and cull plants to ensure availability of marketable products
  • label, tag, pull, sort and deliver plants by variety
  • apply fertilizers, plant growth chemicals, conditioners, and other plant related treatments at the correct times depending on plant type, growth, climate and crop conditions
  • unload products, materials, and supplies and move products to designated areas as instructed
  • perform winterization activities
  • assist with farm building and/or field maintenance and repairs
  • other related duties as assigned
