The Talent Mine is seeking a senior manager with top-notch skills in materials sourcing, for a well-regarded medical device company in the Puget Sound region. This client is known for their high-quality products and services, quickly becoming market leaders on all specialized device and features they create. Overview:

This role provides sourcing, commodity, and supply base management expertise to ensure that all aspects of the sourcing process meet the client's quality, production, pricing, and corporate procurement requirements. This manager will use the client's established practices and processes, as well as business and management philosophy to lead initiatives in supplier sourcing selection, cost reduction, new product sourcing development support, Veterans Affairs (VA) Contract compliance, and other related sourcing activities.

This role is a hybrid position (3-4 days in office per week), so eligible candidates must be based in the Puget Sound region, or willing to relocate to Washington State upon start date. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate!

You will:

  • Lead a team of sourcing professionals to develop & implement sourcing strategies in support of 3-year Supply Chain Strategy, and lead internal, supplier, and cross-functional teams on improvement, value engineering and optimization projects.
  • Provide strategic sourcing leadership to Research and Development (R&D), Quality, Marketing, Finance, and Service departments in all stages of product development.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in the supply base's contemporary technology utilized to upgrade existing products and potentially be designed into new products.
  • Develop strategies to source component parts at the lowest total acquisition cost and improve Purchase Price Variance (PPV) year over year.
  • Conduct negotiations leading to Master Supply/Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and Mutual NDAs, that are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as within the guidelines of the client's Policies and Procedures.
  • In partnership with QA RA Quality Engineering, lead and/or organize all necessary supplier business reviews/audits including commercial, financial, and technical to ensure that the client maintains and continues to develop a robust and capable supply base that excels in minimum Defects Per Million (DPM), on-time delivery and lowest total cost of acquisition.
  • Provide regular updates, reports, and metrics on cost improvements, VA Contract compliance, and new product development programs to management and purchasing staff. Provide sourcing strategy support to ensure VA Contract sub-contracting compliance is met and adhered to.
  • Support the purchasing teams with regards to Excess and Obsolete (E&O) Inventory, ensuring E&O is reduced to the lowest possible value.
  • Solicit requests for quotations from suppliers as needed. Analyze quotation responses and make recommendations to management for procurement decisions.
  • Manage performance expectations with suppliers, and maintain/improve Commodity Roadmaps.

Compensation:

  • TOTAL COMPENSATION = $178,000 - $223,000, broken down as follows:

    • Base pay is $150K - $180K
    • Annual bonus of ±15% (bonus plan based on company and individual performance)
    • 401k match (100% dollar for dollar match up to 4%)
    • Educational assistance (up to $9K per year)
    • + Relocation package available
