Statement of Purpose: Under the direction of the Director of Patient Financial Services (PFS), this individual ensures patients are appropriately financially covered for their medical needs. Works in collaboration with patients, clinicians, insurance companies, and healthcare administration to ensure patients are financially cleared to have medical and surgical services. The Patient Financial Counselor has a direct impact on patients’ wellbeing by providing guidance and facilitating access to vital financial programs and services. They help to analyze a patient’s financial status and provide support on how the patient can cover their healthcare costs.

Qualifications: Education: High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent healthcare experience preferred

Certification / License: Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification required

Experience: Prior experience in financial counseling preferred, Meditech experience a plus
