Position: Lead Urgent Care Provider

Job Description: The Lead Provider, Urgent Care is accountable for the delivery of consistent high quality patient care and supporting the Advanced Practice staff scope of practice (Nurse Practitioner’s/Physician Assistants), and development of the APP staff. Drawing on a broad understanding of clinical practices and policies, the Lead Provider will continually assess system and clinical issues, scope of practice guidelines, and APP practice protocols.

This role in collaboration with the Urgent Care Physician Director involves but is not limited to the coordination of orientation, staff educational development, establishing protocols, systems development, staffing and scheduling, APP hiring, and staff evaluations.

Our providers see an average volume of 25-35 patients per 12-hour shift, and document their encounters in EPIC (our electronic medical record). We have lab draws and x-ray services available at all of our Urgent Care locations and a strong connection with our system’s local emergency room.

Qualifications and Experience:

Physician Candidates

  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

  • Valid Massachusetts Medical License

  • 5 years of clinical practice

Nurse Practitioner Candidates

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program

  • Valid Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner License, FNP preferred

  • 5 years of clinical practice at the advanced practice provider level

Physician Assistant Candidates

  • Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant program

  • Valid Massachusetts Physician Assistant License and NCCPA

  • 5 years of clinical practice at the advanced practice provider level

Preferred experience (All candidates)

  • 2 years of proven management or supervisory experience in a medical setting strongly preferred
