Milford Regional Medical Center Behavioral Health Clinician (LCSW) in Milford, Massachusetts

5 nights per week, 3pm- 11:30pm, 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday, holiday rotation

With over 300 primary care and specialty physicians on the medical staff, our physicians are skilled in the most advanced procedures and technology, and provide personalized patient care in a warm and caring environment.

Statement of Purpose:

The Behavioral Health Clinician must work under the direction of the Manager of Behavioral Health. The Behavioral Health Clinician (BH LCSW) will assess and provide behavioral health assessments in the Emergency Department with accompanying inpatient, outpatient, addiction, or step-down referrals for patients and families. The BH Clinician is responsible for completing bio-psycho-social assessments, as well as utilizing communication skills to seek information as necessary from providers, community mental health organizations, and families to best serve our patients, and which will enable the BH Clinician to identify problems related to the total well-being of the patient. The BH Clinician acts as the liaison between medical staff, community resources, and the patient and their family. The BH Clinician will be responsible for working with Emergency department and inpatient staff to create, educate and implement behavioral health referrals, treatment modules, and evaluations for patients presenting with substance abuse and behavioral health concerns.

The BH Clinician must have knowledge of community mental health care resources, addictions treatment, SUDE and SBIRT knowledge, and the ability to work with state agencies such as DMH and DCF to ensure favorable patient dispositions. The ability to work efficiently, have great patient interaction skills, in-depth clinical interviewing practices, and a sense of urgency are a must. The BH Clinician will also work under the BH Manager (LICSW) to ensure appropriate billing practices are met.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program required

Note: This position will be credentialed under the Milford Regional Medical Center (MRMC) Medical Staff bylaws.

Certification / License:

Massachusetts licensed social worker (LCSW) required

Experience:

3 plus years' experience working in Behavioral Health

Working knowledge of community mental health care and an understanding of ESPs

Knowledge of addiction treatment resources

Demonstrated knowledge of working with various state agencies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island

Able to communicate in a concise, calm manner

High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
