Job Description:

We are seeking a Temp to Hire Quality Technician to join our clients team.

As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring product quality and compliance within the aerospace and automotive industries. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of technical tasks and quality assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in blueprint interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDandT), precision gaging techniques, and understanding of customer/industry-specific requirements.

  • Inspection Aptitude: Utilize standard measuring equipment to perform inspections at all levels, including complex layout inspections, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Capabilities: Maintain, operate, and program CMMs, including touch probe and optical operations, to validate customer requirements for aerospace and automotive industries.

  • Inspection Records: Prepare and validate quality data/records, serving as objective evidence for submission to customers or customer quality representatives.

  • Customer Delegated Quality Representative (DQR): Achieve and maintain DQR status for key aerospace customers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

  • Training Skills: Train inspection personnel in proper techniques and completion of quality records, facilitating continuous improvement.

  • Calibration: Share responsibility for gage calibration, including Gage RandR studies, to maintain accuracy and reliability of measurement equipment.

  • Design/Re-Design of Gaging: Assist in designing or redesigning gaging to meet aerospace requirements and ensure Gage RandR compliance.

  • Safety/5S: Maintain adherence to safety protocols and housekeeping standards within the work area, utilizing all applicable safety equipment.

Position Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in aerospace/automotive product lines, preferably in the stamping industry.

  • Quality Field Skills/Accomplishments: Evidence of training in quality field applications, exposure to continuous improvement methodologies, and achievement of DSQR status with prime aerospace customers.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with departmental, divisional, supplier, and customer personnel to execute daily Quality Department activities.

  • Mechanical/Inspection Skills: Proficiency in GDandT, layout inspections, standard lab measuring equipment, CMM operation and programming, and metrology applications including Gage RandR studies.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to validate product compliance through interpretation of customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and internal procedures.

  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), familiarity with aerospace Netlnspect FAIR packages, adaptability to enterprise resource software, and exposure to metrology software programs.
