Description

We are in search of an Accounting Manager for our client in Milford, Connecticut. This role primarily involves overseeing the monthly close processes, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The right candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to our team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the entire monthly closing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations and rectify any discrepancies promptly

• Utilize Yardi software for various accounting operations

• Reconcile bank accounts regularly to maintain accurate financial records

• File reports in compliance with federal and state regulations

• Provide necessary support during audits to ensure they are conducted smoothly

• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the accounting process

• Apply skills in non-profit fund accounting to manage and allocate resources effectively.

Requirements

• Possession of a minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting managerial role

• Demonstrated proficiency in Monthly Account Reconciliation

• Proven ability to handle Monthly Close Processes

• Experience in preparing and reviewing Journal Entries

• Previous exposure to Audit processes and procedures

• Knowledge of Fund Accounting, specifically in a Non-Profit setting

• Familiarity with the Yardi software system

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates who hold an advanced degree or certification such as CPA

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
