Front-End REPORTS TO: Store Leader / Assistant Store Leader FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt ? Hourly POSITION SUMMARY: This position is extremely important to our store. You are the last person our guests come in contact with when completing their visit. Carry out service is one of the services we offer that sets us apart from our competitors. You will be expected to offer this service to each guest and provide the service unless the guest specifically says otherwise. Develop maximum guest and team member relationships through friendly and courteous behaviors. Support the Absolutes and help provide the Extraordinary Experience for team members and guests. Plans consistently and proactively; provides a safe, clean and positive environment; becomes partners in the communities that we serve; plays own position and allows others the same opportunity; and consistently builds and supports a culture that is based on relationships and continuous improvement. SAFETY AND SANITATION Is aware of and adheres to all safety, security and accident prevention procedures including using common sense and good judgment to maintain the highest level of safety for self, other team members and guests. Reports unsafe conditions, uses equipment and materials properly and determines appropriate action within guidelines. Maintains the equipment and physical appearance of the department, including selling and back room areas, to ensure they meet company maintenance, sanitation and safety standards, as well as the government regulatory agencies guidelines at all times. Continually assists in maintaining proper physical appearance of outside perimeters of store to assure cleanliness and safety of all. Knows proper procedures for and immediately reports all equipment problems, spills, accidents or emergencies to the department merchant or a member of the executive staff. Have knowledge of the layout and the location of safety and emergency equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity. Consistently participates in open communication with team members on a regular basis promoting a high level of morale within departments and store. Shares and accepts ideas for department and store profitability and guest service. Continually solicits guest feedback to help improve sales and service. 2. Has knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, programs and directives. Refers to Team Member Handbook continually to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Promotes a harassment-free environment, and immediately reports any potential legal situation to management. 3. Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department and store through training and education of self and other team members. Attends departmental, store and company meetings as required; contributes to profits and revenues and meets productivity standards. 4. Bags guests? purchases promptly and efficiently within proper guidelines. Carries their purchases to their automobiles in a friendly, prompt efficient manner; ensuring the products are placed safely in their automobile. 5. Assists with general housekeeping andsweep sheet? duties as assigned. 6. Keeps parking lot clear of carts and returns them to proper store location as directed by management. This is a protection for our guests? automobiles and our carts. Always follows safety policies regarding cart retrieval. 7. Although many guests appreciate your efforts, you are not permitted to accept tips. If the guest persists, the money should be turned into the service desk. POSITION REQUIREMENTS COMMUNICATION: Ability to write, speak, hear and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals. COMPUTER: Not required. EDUCATION: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or related job experience and/or training are preferred. EQUIPMENT: Required to use: Vacuum and other cleaning equipment, box cutter, two- wheeler, etc. EXPERIENCE No experience required but helpful. MATH: Basic math skills preferred. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, twist, and bend; hands to fingers to handle or feel: repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel or crawl. Lifting may include floor to shoulder and overhead lifting. Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders required. Required to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. REASON ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form or when helping resolve a team member or guest concern.
