Description

As a Senior Copywriter in Amazon Ads Brand Innovation Lab, you will be leading one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global brands from creative brief to launch. You'll work with a team of art directors, copywriters, designers, program managers, and content producers to create innovative work by coming up with campaign ideas using the Amazon’s canvas (i.e. Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, IMDb). You'll lead projects and own client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer while pushing the creative envelope.

In this role, you will craft high-level creative strategies that solve business needs, think across Amazon platforms and beyond, manage complex projects, and create tailored content across channels driving the marketing objectives of advertisers. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders (including Alexa, Twitch, and other Amazon internal partners), and external media and creative agencies. You will work with senior leadership to create processes and establish best practices that impact the broader department. And finally, you will work towards preserving the team culture of collaboration, teamwork, innovation, inspiration, and foster positive internal and agency relationships.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers

  • Concept, design, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands‑from developing the creative brief to launching the campaign.

  • Independently direct campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners

  • Direct creative disciplines outside your area of functional expertise and provide feedback in all stages of the creative development process

  • Partner with and/or lead art directors, copywriters, designers, program managers, developers, and content producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives

  • Deliver high-quality copy for campaigns across different Amazon touch-points

  • Provide in-depth understanding of copywriting for all formats—digital, print, out-of-home, video and audio scripts, and more

  • Synthesize strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas

  • Lead the creation of presentations; present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally

  • Make creative trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and end-customer needs

  • Measure and evaluate current processes within the department and improve them through documentation

  • Mentor and inspire other creatives

  • Designing a trivia experience for a brand using Prime Video titles

  • Reviewing and improving campaign ideas and presentation decks

  • Working through creative messaging feedback with Legal and PR

  • Presenting a campaign to brand clients and their partner media agency

  • Reviewing video edits for an influencer product launch campaign

  • Writing documentation to improve creative processes

About the team

Brand Innovation Lab is an internal, international group within Amazon Ads that creates one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for global advertisers like Pepsi, Microsoft, Adidas, Samsung, and Unilever. Using all of the different platforms within Amazon (i.e. Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video), we create campaigns that reach millions of Amazon customers across our digital channels and out in the real world. The current position in Amazon UK works across a variety of clients within CPG (consummables) including, grocery, drinks, beauty, household, and personal care.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of copywriting experience in an agency or in-house setting delivering stand-out creative work on campaigns across a variety of digital and traditional touch-points

  • An available online portfolio

  • Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential and social

  • Passion for experimentation and innovation

  • Ability to juggle many projects and consistently deliver results despite competing priorities

  • Experience driving creative alignment with leadership and stakeholders

  • Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience

  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills

  • Relentlessly high creative standards and exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to gracefully defend creative decisions to leadership

  • An understanding of creative development timelines and production process

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment with multiple different stakeholders and regulatory requirements
