Rethinking Technology- Building X – Leap into the future

Come and join the Building X Platform Developer Enablement Team. Building X is a scalable digital building platform to digitalize, manage and optimize building operations, allowing for enhanced user experience, increased performance, and improved sustainability.

The Developer Enablement Team empowers BX developers to leverage BX Platform Core Cloud Services effectively and autonomously through education, support, tools, and resources, enabling them to build scalable, resilient, and efficient cloud-based solutions.

What part will you play?

As Senior R&D Lead in the BX Developer Enablement Team, you will ensure that developers have access to high-quality, relevant, and well-supported resources, tooling and infrastructure that empower them to build innovative solutions effectively in the Building X Platform. You will also be responsible to drive adoption of such resources.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Portfolio Strategy: Together with Head of Developer Enablement, the Developer Advocate, and the Technical Leads, develop and prioritize a strategic roadmap of developer tools, services and resources based on impact and feasibility.

  • Portfolio Life Cycle Management: Managing the lifecycle of developer resources available in the Building X Platform, to ensure their availability, relevance, and effectiveness throughout their lifespan. This includes Planning and Creation, Publication and Distribution, Adoption and Engagement, Maintenance and Support, Retirement and Sunset and Performance Monitoring & Reporting.

  • Vendor and Partner Management: When required ensure the successful delivery and support of developer tools, services, and resources provided by external vendors.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and envision the long-term direction of developer enablement efforts. This involves analyzing market trends, understanding industry best practices, and anticipating future needs.

  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of software development processes, technologies, and tools commonly used by developers. This helps in effectively assessing the feasibility and impact of developer enablement initiatives. A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas, plans, and updates to internal and external stakeholders, mainly developers.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions about resource allocation, roadmap prioritization, and performance optimization.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify complex problems, analyze root causes, and develop creative solutions to overcome obstacles and challenges.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to navigate change, adjust priorities, and pivot strategies in response to evolving business needs and market dynamics.
