JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Facilities Engineer provides technical engineering services to support Maintenance and Production operations. This position will collaborate with Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Team Leads, Engineers, and various other departments to execute on planned jobs, unplanned jobs, equipment reliability, and capital project improvements. This position will focus on managing the equipment reliability and capital project programs for the isothermal forging operation.

Essential Functions:

This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

  • Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes including responsibility and oversight of EHS policies.

  • Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policies.

  • Responsible for managing the Isothermal department equipment reliability program.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical or electrical principles in an industrial environment.

  • Create and evaluate required critical spare parts needed to prevent extended equipment downtime events.

  • Plan, execute, and manage capital projects to upgrade current facility equipment resulting in process improvements, cost reduction, or safety improvements.

  • Inspect and test equipment to identify malfunctions or defects.

  • Ability to work with Process Controls to make Equipment PLC Program changes to improve production efficiency or reduce process risk.

  • Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning.

  • Review production flow charts and implement equipment changes to reduce risk to product.

  • Analyze test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems, and to evaluate effects of system modifications.

  • Ability to effectively use computer-based document management programs, PLC historian applications, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Forging Processes – Knowledge of hydraulic press systems.

Vacuum Forging Processes – Knowledge of industry equipment utilized in vacuum forging operations.

Project Management – Ability to manage capital projects to add/upgrade industrial facility equipment.

Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively.

Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Basic functions of Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Location/Environmental Requirements:

Nickel and titanium manufacturing facility. Exposure to: moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration; loud noise level

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree from an accredited institution in Maintenance or Engineering related field.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Project Management and Equipment Reliability Programs in a team-based environment.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Maintenance from an accredited institution.

  • 3+ years’ experience working with PLC’s, HMI’s, Database Systems, and electrical systems such as power distribution.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Project Management and Equipment Reliability Programs in a team-based environment.

  • 5+ years’ experience working with PLC’s, HMI’s, Database Systems, and electrical systems such as power distribution.

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming, implementation, and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of PLC Software/programming, vacuum forging, and electrical/mechanical systems.
