Rebound Industrial Maintenance Machinist Helper in Midlothian, Virginia

*MACHINIST HELPER *JOB DESCRIPTION

The Position: Under the direction of the Shop Foreman, the Machine Shop Machinist Helper will provide general machine shop support for Management and shop floor personnel. *Hours: This position is normally 40 hours per week. Normal working hours will be between 7 AM and 3:30 PM Monday - Friday, however, may include weekend and/or additional hours as business needs warrant. Scheduled breaks and lunch periods are established. *Working Conditions: Duties will primarily be performed within the Rebound machine shop area. However, exterior on-site field work may be required. Eye protection and overall safety practices and policies will be required while working in the Rebound machine shop area and while performing field duties. Uniform requirements may apply. Training of Rebound practices, policies and procedures will be provided. *General duties will include (but are not limited to): *

  • Perform general machine shop duties as directed.
  • Operation of hand and power tools and equipment with emphasis on safety standards.
  • Operation of fork truck and other general moving equipment.
  • Must take and pass off OSHA, customer and vendor safety training requirements and related re-training.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions for job specifications.
  • Assist in preparing completed work for shipping.
  • Assist in receiving job related supplies and materials.
  • Perform inventory checks and logs as required.
  • General preventive maintenance of machine shop equipment.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Help in organizing and maintaining a safe, clean and efficient working environment.
  • Performance of duties in an efficient and timely manner in order to meet on-time delivery requirements.
  • General duties as required.

Qualifications: 1-2 years experience in machine shop environment preferred. Basic knowledge of machine shop practices preferred. Experience with hand tools and power equipment.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma, or equivalent, with additional related education preferred. Valid Drivers License. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug, background and MVR checks. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
