Pay Range: $27.00- $30.00 / hour

Position Summary

The 2nd Shift Production/Maintenace Supervisor will ensure safe production of finished goods and help maintain the mechanical equipment on the line. Will be responsible for the supervising of staff, monitoring workflow as well as maintaining safe operations and product quality. Coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Carryout to the full extent required, production activities for the processing of any and all NARSTCO products.

  • Complies and follows all OSHA and NARSTCO safety standards and regulations.

  • Monitor team member’s participation to ensure the training they are provided is being put to effective use and identify additional training that may be needed.

  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation with and between departments.

  • To exercise the utmost degree of integrity, honesty, good faith, and fidelity to the Company, in dealing with the Company and with its customers, employees, suppliers, and other public.

  • Provide other reasonable services as the Company may request from time to time.

  • Helps performs all maintenance, repair, service, and troubleshooting of all industrial equipment and buildings with his/her capabilities and under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

  • Perform preventive maintenance requirements as scheduled following technical drawings and documentation to include diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.

  • Help maintain parts and supply inventory levels by using min/max inventory levels and anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.

  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

  • CIMM (Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic) preferred.

  • Welding (certification) preferred.

  • 3-5 years of work experience in Industrial Machinery Maintenance/Repair and Manufacturing

  • Three to Four years of related experience in the manufacturing production environment in a leadership role

  • Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical and Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair experience required.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to transfer knowledge to Production Operators by on-the-job training.

  • Basic math proficiency

  • Flexibility in handling multiple priorities and heavy production requirements

  • Knowledge of e-mail, spreadsheet software, word processing, presentation software and tracking databases.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Exposure to loud noises, machines, fumes, heat/cold, sparks, metal dust and industrial moving parts in the plant facility

  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds

  • Exposed to all weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather
