Your Job:

The primary purpose of the Food Service Associate is to perform a variety of operational duties that require timely and accurate service to cafeteria patrons, describe and serve appropriate menu items, while adhering to infection control standards, safety standards and food handling principles. Provides the very best patient care.

Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Your Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 6 months of restaurant/institutional establishments preferred.

  • Able to learn and apply basic mathematic skills to convert weights and measures.

  • Able to learn and apply knowledge of therapeutic diets and food consistency modifications.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares assigned work station for service in a timely manner. Assist in appropriately stocking food and non-food supplies.

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

  • Greet customers with a smile, provide menu/ingredient description.

  • Maintains pleasant, cheerful and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers.

  • Adheres to HACCP guidelines to ensure proper food safety and handling standards

  • Cleans and sanitizes assigned work areas and equipment as per daily, weekly, monthly cleaning schedules.

  • Assists new employees and co-workers with cross-training.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.
