Sargent & Lundy Mechanical Engineer - Mid-Level - Oil & Gas in Midland, Texas

Description

  • Responsible for project support of the mechanical effort on Oil & Gas projects including:

  • Compressor Stations

  • Meter Stations

  • Pump Stations

  • Pipeline Installation

  • Natural Gas Processing Plants

  • Central Gathering Facilities

  • Responsible for working directly with fellow members of the mechanical engineering team & mechanical design team for project execution support.

  • Ability to travel to support field work activities (including site commissioning).

  • Engineering experience including:

  • P&IDs

  • Process/Hydraulic Calculations

  • Engineering Evaluations

  • Ability and willingness to take direction from senior staff and ask question to ensure quality deliverables.

  • Review & preparation of line lists & equipment lists.

  • Review of project isometrics to make sure they comply with project requirements set forth by the client.

  • Ability to effectively communicate within project team to resolve project issues.

  • Work with Mechanical Engineering team for successful execution of projects while continuing to learn and develop.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is required.

  • EIT and/or PE license valued.

  • Knowledge in the design of mechanical engineering systems for non-commercial, heavy industrial plants (power plant - essential, oil & gas, or chemical - valued), with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants, modifications, or replacements; Experience must include the selection of equipment, piping materials, control philosophy, and the preparation of supporting calculations and specifications.

  • 3+ years of Oil and Gas industry experience in midstream and/or upstream.

  • Knowledge of Mechanical Equipment and Piping systems.

  • Customer service oriented with passion for high customer satisfaction and achieving project execution excellence.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including senior management, clients, and other disciplines.

  • Ability to analyze, define, and solve problems.

  • Ability to prioritize workflow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexible.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
