Case systems Inc. Press Brake Operator in Midland, Michigan

Position Summary 
Sets up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, notch, punch, or straighten metal as specified by work orders, blueprints, drawings, templates, or layouts.

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
1.      Set up and operate a press brake machine and related equipment.
  1. Utilize and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standard work to properly fabricate parts.
3.      Use carts, pallet jacks and/or forklift trucks to move raw materials and finished parts.
4.      Utilize measuring devices, squares and other test equipment to ensure parts are within expected tolerance
5.      Visually inspect parts / products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  1. Perform routine periodic preventative maintenance and inspections as required on capital equipment, supporting infrastructure and facilities.
7.      Understand, embrace and adhere to the principles of continuous improvement.
  1. Work in an extremely safe manner, following all safety rules and regulations.

Qualification Requirements
  1. Previous experience operating press brake machines and related equipment, including set-up experience.
  2. Ability to read, comprehend and correctly interpret production paperwork, engineering drawings and specifications.
  3. Ability to read and determine accurate measurements / tolerances using metric measuring tape, calipers, micrometers and other devices.
  4. Ability to consistently perform manual labor and heavy lifting and to sustain physical work activities, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending and walking.
  5. Good attendance, work performance and safety records.
  6. Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  7. Ability to work extra hours as needed, sometimes on short notice.

     

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see and hear.  The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms.  The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Minimal travel and/or driving is required.  Noise levels are typically moderate to loud.
