Job Description

Job Summary:

Mechanical Support Technician performs reconfiguration, maintenance and repair of various laboratory equipment.

Detailed Description:

  • Fabricate and install tubing for process and Instruments.

  • Fabricate and install piping for various utilities.

  • Assist with brazing, soldering, of copper pipe joint.

  • Assist with structural welding and fabrications.

  • Meet timely deadlines for customers.

  • Assist with calling in orders, working with vendors to collect parts and receipts.

  • Tie work orders to jobs and submit receipts.

  • Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors building framework and trim.

  • Ability to interpret drawings to determine dimensions.

  • Move and assist in transportation of various types of equipment.

  • Maintain work logs.

  • Ability to use various power and hand tools efficiently.

  • Maintains storage areas to be kept well organized.

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Operate and maintain construction equipment and power tools.

  • Understand basic knowledge of pipefitting in an industrial setting.

  • Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled trade work relating to installations.

  • Repair of equipment and piping inside building and outdoors

  • Perform reconfiguration, maintenance and repair of various laboratory equipment

  • Ensure reliability and safe operation of laboratory process equipment

Requirements:

The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma, and 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education including vocational training. Basic understanding of industrial equipment, pipe fitting, and blueprint comprehension required. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
