About you and this role

Dowhas an exciting opportunity available within our Toxicology and Environment Research & Consulting (TERC) Team for anAdministrative Assistant. The location is inMidland, Michigan.This position provides general administrative support to the department. In addition, this position generates purchase orders, orders materials for the department, and participates in departmental capital management. This position exercises discretion and independent judgment in managing flow of work. Requires full proficiency gained through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience to perform a range of tasks under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a wide variety of secretarial/administrative support to leaders, employees, or groups in the organization, including receiving, screening and directing incoming calls, visitors, mail and email.

  • Uses business software applications (e.g., word processing, presentation and spreadsheet) to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.

  • Maintains files, records, calendars and diaries.

  • Arranges business travel, coordinates internal meetings and event arrangements, and/or tracks expenses.

  • Monitors and tracks expenses against budgets and provides reports to cost center owner or budget manager.

  • Maintains internal file shares, SharePoints, and team communication mechanisms.

  • Generates purchase orders and ensures timely payment to vendors.

  • An integral participant in the departmental capital management program.

  • May act as the department focal point with external vendors, contractors, or service providers.

  • The toxicology laboratory follows good laboratory practices and this role plays an integral part in maintaining the associated documentation.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an equivalent role.

  • Must be 18 years old or older.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available for this position including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient with technical skills and can be used as a SME. These include SAP, MS Office, MS TEAMs, SharePoint,

  • Experience in file share management and administration

  • Experience in managing/reporting WebEDMS, WebMOC, Needs Assessment/Diamond Learning, and Expense Reporting

  • Experience in onboarding new hires.

  • Experience in supporting large organizations (60+ people) and facilities.

  • Has a wide network to leverage from to solve administrative and/or logistic problems.
