Responsibilities Under supervision of the Manager of Radiation Oncology, the Radiation Therapist provides direct application of clinical and technical expertise to patients in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist and with appropriate consideration of patient age. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). Qualifications Minimum Education: Satisfactory completion of a 24 month certificate program in Radiation Oncology, or equivalent. Minimum Experience: No experience required. Required Certification/Registration: Must have satisfactorily completed a 24 month course in Radiation Technology registered by AART, and/or currently holds a NYS license in Radiation Therapy. Ongoing and continuing BLS. Physical Demands: Stands, walks and sits intermittently. Considerable mental strength required to work daily with cancer patients. Must be alert, in control of equipment, and observant of patient’s condition. Ability to lift and transfer patients using proper and safe techniques. Working Conditions: Works inside treatment facility; controlled exposure to radiation Workplace type On-site
