Position Details

The Biology Department at Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Biology. Job responsibilities will focus on teaching introductory biology lecture and laboratory courses. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of five undergraduate courses each year. In the first year, the fall (September-December) teaching will include co-teaching of Principles of Biology I (introduction to molecular and cell biology, 30-40 students) and Principles of Biology I Laboratory (two lab sections) as well as one upper-level course in the candidate’s area of expertise. The spring (January-May) teaching will include co-teaching Principles of Biology II laboratory (introduction to organismal and population biology, two lab sections) as well as one upper-level course in the candidate’s area of expertise. The initial appointment is for one year and is renewable for two additional years based on performance. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024.

Ph.D. in biology or related field.
