Job Title: Analyst I - Novi, MI

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Routine and complex sample preparation

  • Performs routine analysis for the analytical departments

  • Simple routine maintenance on the instrumentation they have been trained on

  • Data review and interpretation

  • Routine and other data entry

  • Instrument/analytical problem solving and process improvement

  • Willingness to participate in QA investigations

  • Working independently and giving insight on problem solving

  • Keeps abreast of current and new methods

  • Statistical analyses on quality control samples to assure compliance

  • Quality and quantity of work meets laboratory benchmarks

  • Follows safety requirements including the appropriate use of safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats

  • Company procedures and policies adhered to

  • On-going participation in laboratory skills inventory

  • Turnaround times achieved

  • Multi-task and prioritize workload

Required Experience, Education, Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science field, preferred in conjunction with some applicable analytical experience

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

The ability to follow established protocols for analysis and safety. Comfort working with/around concentrated acids, flammables and other hazardous chemicals. Use of required PPE. Availability for occasional overtime work on evenings and weekends to meet client workload demands. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to cross-train in other laboratory departments, as needed. Ability to maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.

Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: analytical balances, pipettes, chromatography and chromatographic software, chemical exhaust hoods.
