Dayton Superior Corporation Shipping Lead in Miamisburg, Ohio

  • Leads activities of shipping and receiving department to ensure orders are prepared for shipment and shipped orders are received.
  • Reviews paperwork for incoming merchandise and customer orders in order to distribute work activities to team.
  • Loads/unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Prepares inventory for shipment. Properly bands and shrink wraps pallets and attaches shipping labels.
  • Processes shipping orders using computerized shipping system and monitors order pick report.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and ensures trucks are loaded by Shippers.
  • Maintains warehouse inventory on racks in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Trains Shippers/Receivers as assigned.
  • Tracks shipping errors
  • Performs other duties as assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be a trained and qualified forklift operator, with current/valid license.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, and counting.
  • Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features of the equipment.
  • Ability to always use the required personal protective equipment.
  • Knowledge of products manufactured or warehoused at that plant. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Three years as a Shipper/Receiver or equivalent experience. Minimum three years' experience using RF scanner. Minimum three years' experience processing packages for UPS/FedEx. Basic computer skills are required for data-entry and printing labels. Familiarity with Excel and Word preferred. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb ladders or equipment.
