The Field Service Technician will provide accurate and efficient service to customers by performing diversified tasks relating to product installation, troubleshooting, operation, repair and training. Work will take place at the Customer's locations. The Field Service Technician must able to work independently with minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Respond to customer's service requests * Identifies customer's problem by asking probing questions * Builds strong relationships with customers * Promote and sell parts and service agreements * Responds to problems, troubleshooting; may walk customer through repair procedure * Communicates with customer in a concise and courteous manner * Maintains positive and helpful relationship with customer as a means of projecting the Company's quality image and achieving satisfaction * Assist with equipment sales * Perform troubleshooting and repairs for equipment in the field * Develop and present effective training for operators and maintenance personnel * Design and write instructions and service manual * Travel to installations to install equipment, to perform required maintenance, to repair equipment, or to provide instructions for customer maintenance * Represent the Company while at customer facility. Will typically be the only technical person on site * Ability to travel up to 80% QUALIFICATIONS: * Strong mechanical aptitude * Good troubleshooting and analytical skills. * Excellent customer relations skills * Good communication skills (verbal and written). * Experience in CAD software is a plus for this position. * Prior experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, or Field Service Engineer is preferred EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * 2-Year mechanical technical degree, or trade/technical school diploma or 5 years experience in mechanical service and repair or experience with threading machines. * Proficient in Micro-Soft suite. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Ability to handle a wide range of situations and personalities * Able to work well under pressure and tight time lines and maintain a team spirit and cooperative attitude * Provide a high level of customer service, responding to customer needs and working to satisfy customer expectations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Low physical effort required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, and walk. * Maximum unassisted lift 35 lbs, average lift less than 10 lbs. * Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator. * Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Inside average office environment. * Average office noise levels. * No personal protective equipment required. * Ambient temperature between 68 and 76 degrees.
