The Role

Our Restoration Division focuses on the design of repairs, renovations, and alterations of existing structures and oversee their execution in the field. We perform condition assessments, investigations, quality control inspections, feasibility studies, and peer reviews.

SUMMARY:  We have an immediate opportunity for a Structural/Architectural Project Manager for our Restoration Division in our Miami, FL office. We are looking for a candidate with experience in field assessment, structural system repair (addition, alteration, and repair), development of construction documents for restoration of existing structures, tenant improvement projects, adjacent construction monitoring, and/or construction engineering.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Safely and effectively perform site visits independently, or lead a small team, to support field assessment activities as required for project needs, perform existing condition verification/review, and obtain the necessary data to develop repair plan/budget.

  • Develop technical and investigative reports to support field findings.

  • Effectively manage the production of structural drawings and assessment reports as required for the project needs.

  • Prepare specifications and Project Manuals for bidding and construction.

  • Understand and comply with applicable codes and Industry standards through all phases of projects.

  • Promptly attend OAC and client meetings as required.

  • Representing clients in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.

  • Preparation of cost estimates.

  • Performing repair quantity take-offs from drawings.  

  • Providing assistance and recommendations of alternate methods of construction/repair to meet the intent of identified deficiencies.

  • Selection and research of material and systems replacement including, glass, sealants/paint, EIFS, stucco, metal panels, and more.

  • Experienced with Building Assessments, Evaluations and Forensic investigations.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage own workflows.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish strong working relationships with other team members, Owners/Clients, Consultants, Vendors and Contractors.

  • Self-motivated and interested in career advancement.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and schedules.

  • Understand phases of restoration construction projects including development of construction documents, cost estimating, bidding/procurement, permitting, contract negotiations.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position entails no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Civil/Structural Engineering, or Architecture.

  • Master's degree preferred.

    Work Experience

  • Experience with existing building construction practices and renovation work.

  • Experience with BIM/drafting software, such as Revit and AutoCad preferred.

    Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid United States Driver’s License required, as this position requires travel to and from client sites.

    Skills

  • Proficient technical writing and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.

  • Knowledge of  broad architectural/engineering design theories/concepts related to restoration of existing structures.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Height and Access Equipment

  • Safe operation and use of ladders, scaffolds, and other access equipment as required.

  • Ability to work safely at heights.

    Outdoor Environment

  • Exposure to prolonged periods outdoors, which might extend beyond 3 hours.

  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Temperatures above 85°F or below 40°F.

  • High humidity levels (above 90%).

  • Adverse weather conditions like snow/ice, rain, and wind.

    Mobility

  • Extended periods of standing and walking, possibly on uneven or challenging terrains.

    Flexibility in Scheduling

  • Ability to adjust lunch hours based on project-specific demands, which might include working through regular lunch times.
