The Manager, Danaher Business System for our Global Value Engineering team is responsible for driving the organization to targeted, measurable, and sustainable improvements in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation) across all operations and support functions. They will support or own the strategy development and execution for group and site initiatives. They will be responsible for coaching and developing lean capabilities within the organization.

At Beckman Coulter and Danaher, the Danaher Business System (DBS) is the culture and toolset that we use to continually drive value and improvements for our internal and external partners.

This position is an integral part of the Global Value Engineering organization and will be onsite/hybrid at one of our primary Manufacturing and Development Center sites, including Chaska, MN, and Miami, FL. It will require periodic travel between facility locations, including Clare, Ireland

This role will report directly to the Sr. Director of Value Engineering and will be required to work in an indirect leadership capacity across the entire organization. The role at Danaher is highly visible and is essential to the successful development of the Danaher Business System culture within the organization.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist site/company leadership in the development of a strategic Lean roadmap (i.e., how to use the DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results).

  • Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching to functional leads.

  • Facilitate DBS training sessions and kaizen events

  • Manage and continuously improve DBS process (Kaizen Event Process/Funnel, Certified Practitioner Funnel)

  • Support the creation or improvement of processes to ensure proper utilization DBS principles across the site

  • Communicate across all levels to develop followership and consensus for site initiatives

  • Facilitate site key performance indicator bowler reviews

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS or BA degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 9+ years of Innovation and/or project management experience, or 7+ years experience with Master’s degree, or a Doctorate with 4+ years experience

  • Hands-on experience implementing/leading Continuous Improvement programs, TPS, Kaizen, and/or Lean

  • Proven experience coaching/influencing others

  • Project management skills, with experience driving and delivering results

  • Strong computer / MS Office skills

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience working in regulated (FDA preferred) company environments

  • Mastery of a variety of Lean tools
