Univision Communications Inc Broadcast Engineer in Miami, Florida

[Uni-vision is seeking a talented Broadcast Engineer based in Miami, FL with experience installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining TV and Radio Master Control and Production systems, and related file-based media workflows. The-successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the up-time, configuration, preventative and corrective maintenance of file based on-air media storage and play-out automation systems, as well as related Base-band, Encoding, and Distribution Systems. Responsibilities will also include day-to-day direct technical support to our News and Radio production teams, and NOC monitoring and control teams.

  • Resolve support requests and perform corrective and preventative maintenance on payout systems equipment, including but not limited to:
  • Media Servers, Master Control Automation, Media Networks
  • Routing and Switching equipment, Storage, Graphics Systems, Harmonic and Evert encoding and distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with file-based play-out and distribution systems and workflows.
  • Monitor and evaluate distribution systems and workflows for proper operating performance.
  • Troubleshoot network and remote access connectivity problems.
  • Follow change control processes to implement changes and perform maintenance on live broadcast systems.

Requirements:

Minimum BA/BS degree in Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Computer Science, related physical sciences, or equivalent work experience.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues in file-based play-out, automation, video networks, and digital media encoding platforms.

Ability to troubleshoot distribution equipment such as plant routers, DAs, sync generators, monitoring equipment, 5.1 multichannel audio and audio processing equipment.

Proficiency with server and workstation operation, configuration, and support.

In depth understanding of digital audio and video signals, compression methodologies, codes and standards.

Customer service supporting end users, including all levels of management, in a time critical production environment.

Ability to read and understand standard broadcast industry drawings and schematics.

Experience supporting computer hardware and software, including deployment, configuring, troubleshooting, and/or installation of applications on Microsoft Windows

Mac OS, and Linux operating systems

Vm Ware experience a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
