AON Account Executive/Broker II in Miami, Florida

Aon is seeking an Account Executive II for our Miami, FL office

Are you a professional who enjoys developing and managing client relationships, account strategies, and creative marketing activities for a book of business? Are you adept at being the primary negotiate in obtaining the most effective insurance programs to address client needs? If you enjoy maintaining positive and productive relationships and collaborating closely with global colleagues, this may be your next role!

We offer opportunities for increased visibility, both internally and externally. You will represent Aon through periodic participation in speaking engagements aimed at business development and provide responses, when requested, for industry publications. Participation in the development of department policies and procedures and implementing them is a responsibility in the role. And.. you'll expand your coaching skills by offering guidance and mentorship to more junior staff!

Daily Responsibilities

  • Thorough analysis of current risk transfer programs, such as coverage and cost analysis and graphical representations of the program.

  • Insurance program structure planning and design of alternatives based on client objectives. Provide benchmarking reports related to limits and programs.

  • Prepare all marketplace insurance submissions, coordinate and conduct market meetings and negotiations.

  • Finalize all risk transfer quotes and complete a thorough comparison of program options as part of the client proposal presentation. Comparison to include changes in exposure, losses, coverage terms and conditions and cost of risk.

  • Development and review of issued policy certificate and/or certificate language, including contributing around wording for captive policies.

  • Serve as a team member for new business production and contribute to RFP responses and presentations.

  • Develop direct market relationships beyond routine placement activities through carrier meetings and GRIP partner dialogues.

  • Serves as a source for information concerning market trends, pricing practices and other underwriting policies.

  • Travel, as appropriate, for client and underwriting meetings (approximately 25%).

    Skills and experience that lead to success

At least 10 years of placement experience or comparable activities in the construction industry segment. Excellent digital literacy, including working experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Good working knowledge of the brokerage business. Superior written and interpersonal skills to conduct of business in a professional manner with external/internal clients and the marketplace. Strong team player who understands the roles and responsibilities of other Aon professionals, assumes responsibility for the timely delivery of a professional work product in accordance with assigned roles, and facilitates communication among team members. Continually strive for personal professional development with a positive demeanor in always trying to improve a program.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience. Active Property & Casualty license must be maintained in order to accurately service clients, as well as ongoing continuing education. Advanced degree or professional designation is preferred, including CPCU, CPLU CIC or ARM, but not required.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000 to $180,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
